Bay Area Native Wins Powerman Panama

Professional Triathlete Alistair Eeckman raced his way to a decisive win at Powerman Panama. The 22 year old Eeckman, born in San Francisco and raised in Berkeley, over-powered the field on the bike and maintained his lead on the run to finish the 10K run, 60K bike, 10K run course in a time of 2:45:55, slightly over ten minutes ahead of his closest competitor.

The win was a continuation of success for Eeckman at Powerman events. In December he finished a close second at Powerman Florida. As of January 23rd Eeckman was ranked 24th in the world Powerman rankings. With the win in Panama he is sure to climb up several spots in the coming months.

Powerman races are duathlons held worldwide and feature long course as well as short course events.
