Treeathlon To Serve As Qualifier For 2017 Senior Games

On a weekend packed with great racing, this year’s Classic Triathlon at the Treeathlon, hosted by the Stanford Triathlon team, will once again be part of the Bay Area Senior Games and serve as the qualifying race for the 2017 Summer National Senior Games in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Senior Games qualifier will take place on Sunday March 5th at Pacific Shores Center in Redwood City. The triathlon is scheduled to begin at 12:00 pm and will consist of a 500 meter open water swim, a 20K bike and a 5K run.

The Senior Games are for athletes 50 and over and all finishers at the Bay Area Senior Games / Treeathlon will qualify for the National games. Last year the Bay Area Senior Games triathlon winners were Sam Suttle of Oakland and Carole Mawson of Woodside.
